Online Form Responses (or lack thereof)
31 Jan 2007 | Angie H
Recently, while doing some research, I visited a few sites that I needed more information from. They all had forms I could fill out, so I did. That was over three weeks ago. I'm still waiting for a reply.
Okay, so I could easily pick up the phone, but I'd be overlooking the point of this article: If your site has a contact form of any kind, be sure to reply to whoever takes the time to fill it out!
Online forms are nothing new but they can be – and often are – annoyances for visitors. Especially long forms. They take time and generally are a usability nightmare. So when someone goes through the trouble of filling one out and doesn't get a response in a reasonable amount of time, they immediately get a negative impression of your site and your company. And if you've been alive or in business long enough, you know bad news travels faster than good news.
