RIP Netscape

One of the first browsers, Netscape, has slowly been dying over the past few years. And starting Feb 1, it will no longer be supported.
I'm not entirely surprised by this, but I am surprised it didn't happen sooner. Here at 420 Design, we haven't been testing on Netscape for at least a year and a half. That's purely based on our own site stats, research and client site stats. These days the top players are Internet Explorer (for better or worse), Firefox and some hinting of Safari (mostly by Mac users).
So, if you've been using Netscape, it's time to switch. While Netscape will be available for download for some time to come, because it will no longer be supported it will be less and less secure. Your best bet is to just switch to Firefox (which is what the folks at Netscape recommend anyway). If you're that in love with Netscape, you can download a Netscape theme for Firefox.
