H-M Motorsports

Part of the Herzog-Meier family, H-M Motorsports is a unique full-service automotive center specializing specialty parts and custom solutions. Having been without a true online presence for several months, H-M chose 420 Design to develop their new site filled with lots of information and reasons for users to keep going back.

The design is centered around car enthusiasts and is meant to be very rich with imagery while keeping a clear path and visual hierarchy and without being overbearing on the eyes. A great design does little, however, if good content isn't there to support it. So through thorough discussions and questions, we wrote the copy for the entire site to help reach not only the enthusiasts, but the other core audience – average car owners needing regular maintenance; something else H-M Motorsports does very well.

Finally, the development of the site was centered around Expression Engine, a highly customizable, full-featured, advanced content management system – our CMS of choice. Aside from wanting to update the site in-house, H-M Motorsports was interested in specific features for their site that made Expression Engine an easy and obvious choice. Those features include two blog-style sections (News and Project Cars) that essentially run independently of each other, a photo gallery, an employment page that allows for automatic expiration of job postings, an online job application form, and a few other subtleties.
