Herzog-Meier Intranet (HMWeb)

The Herzog-Meier family is made up of Herzog-Meier, H-M Motorsports and Beaverton Auto Sales and Service. Because each entity is unique in its own right yet still under Herzog-Meier umbrella, Herzog-Meier needed a way to make it easy for all employees – at all three locations – to be connected internally. For that they had relied on a simple Intranet. Ready to expand on it and make it even more useful to employees, Herzog-Meier called on us to help them out.

HMWeb features a calendar of upcoming events, a news section, a reference area and a specific area for the Human Resources department. Additionally, two neat features that make the site "theirs" are the Employee of the Month and Birthdays & Anniversaries "widgets". These are simple little scripts that give a personal/community aspect to the site.

The project was a challenge in that Herzog-Meier had specific "must-haves" for the home page, let alone the entire Intranet site. Using a solid content management system, however, we were able to accommodate each of their requests. The CMS also makes it easy for them to update the site on their own (which is an absolute necessity when dealing with corporate intranets).
